Great, if you wear armor
John (FL) 6/25/2010 7:21 AM
This is an amazingly simple but very functional and adjustable vest. I'm a small guy (5'7"/160lb), i do not wear armor(think more of a recon loadout), and even though i'm left with alot of extra strapping to tape up, it fits perfect. My one complaint is the back. The back has to be left open to make it one size fit all and still close properly in the front but If there could be an adjustable panel to cover the back after the overall adjustment it would be perfect. I gave mine to a buddy and took his old one piece to a seamstress and had all the straps reversed, so the back is the front, it's working for now.

I surely do like this piece of Cordura.

This vest is suitable for many different purposes. I especially love the X-Harnesses for carrying my Mod Hydration Carrier. However, there are a few flaws; 1) Why are those Fastex buckles on the front so small? Imagine you are relaxing and not wearing the vest. You hear alarm, you have to rush with it and connect the tiny buckles. Solution; have larger Fastex buckles, it'll be faster for a clumsy person like me to get ready. 2) Why on earth the back of this vest is open- style? I mean, would it be that difficult having a 3rd panel (back panel) like you had in the LE Load Bearing Vest? I mean, if you really do want to carry your Mod Hydration Carrier comfortably without those short MALICE clips scratching your back (suppose you are ambushing / scouting and do not have need for body armor). Your Mod Hydration Carrier would also be more stable when attaching those MALICEs to the PALS webbing. Solution; have a MAV Vest Body 3 Piece (just like '2 Piece', except for 3rd panel on the back). Over all, that's all I can complain about this one. "No man is an island, entire of itself" and therefor nothing man-made is perfect, but it's still a fine piece of tactical gear worth of paying.

Definitely worth it.

I purchased this vest to carry my gear for airsoft. I was not disappointed at all. It is surely the least expensive vest that would be used by military and law enforcement. It carries all of my stuff (magazines, first aid, and other bits. The magazines weigh less than real ones, but the rest weighs about the same. Maybe 10 or 15 pounds of stuff?) without flinching, so to speak. Granted, this is less than anyone using it for actual combat would ever carry. Still, I know that I can look forward to using this vest for years to come. It is also made in the USA, which is a cause that I can stand behind. Before this, pretty much all of the airsoft gear I owned came from China or somewhere else overseas. Thanks TT!
